WETRAT
This clothing brand exists to give a unique identity to the skateboarding community of Seattle, Washington. The target audience are male skaters between the ages of 20 and 35, lower to middle class. These skaters appreciate the nostalgia and early graphics of magazines like thrasher and mad magazine.

I started exploration for the logo design of WETRAT by making quick 30-second to a minute sketches, just to get immediate ideas onto paper. Given the subject matter and audience, I was initially looking to make something illustrative and messy.

Considerations at this stage included readability, functionality and versatility of the mark, and a healthy logo-to-text balance. Reference was also utilized here in order to accurately illustrate a wet rat in a simplistic vector style.

One of the main components of this assignment is to design an unboxing experience for the consumer. I researched reference of packaging marketed towards similar demographics, and looked to expand and innovate upon those ideas for my unique identity.
